Public drawing at the Town Office: three homes go to year-round buyers

NHSH offered three homes in 2025, the most it has ever put up at once. Applications ran February 10 to March 10, and the public drawing was held at the North Haven Town Office on March 26.

• Two three-bedroom homes on Fish Hawk Road, the first on the 11.4 acres the Pingree family donated in 2017. Sliding-scale price $270,000–$470,000 depending on income, up to 200% of area median. Move-in fall 2025.
• One three-bedroom home at 174 Main Street, downtown, renovated in 2022. Sliding-scale price $205,000–$385,000, up to 150% of area median.

How the sale works

• Buyers must be qualified year-round residents of North Haven who will live in the home year-round.
• Sale prices use a sliding scale based on the buyer's financial capacity, well below market.
• Each home carries an affordability covenant limiting resale to eligible year-round island households, and NHSH keeps the option to repurchase at an established price plus inflation.
• When more qualified households apply than there are homes, buyers are chosen by drawing.

Up to four more Fish Hawk Road homes are planned through 2027. First-time buyers take an approved homebuyer course before closing. Funding them is the heart of the Our Island Home campaign.
